We start another year at St Fagans. However, we couldn’t work in the Roper garden at first as they blocked it of due to work going on fixing the roof on the house there. This has meant we have been over in the Volunteer Centre doing different things. We tided the area outside the Volunteer Centre.
On Monday 20th January we did take a visit to the garden to put up wildlife cameras. We wanted to see what we could catch on camera and see who visits the garden. I found it an exciting experience. George put up one of the cameras in the garden.
We had a quick look at the garden when we were there too. We looked for any changes. One area is getting overgrown but the other side is not too bad. It helps that it is winter because weeds grow more slowly in winter.
On Saturday 25th January our secret garden volunteers attended a celebration event at Cardiff museum. This was a thank you for all our hard work. There were activities and a buffet included. We enjoyed a paint along, an exhibition tour and a fun quiz. Thanks to all who attended!
We looked on the camera’s SD cards on 10th February. We saw rats in the garden at night so we hope we catch other wild life on there. We are hoping to see foxes, badgers, owls and hedgehogs.
The groups run 3 days a week Monday 10.30-1.30, Wednesday 12.30-3.30pm and Thursday 10.30am-1.30pm.
